    I mean, was Iran even invited? … and how are they supposed to achieve it without proper access to world trade in things like, idk, solar panels, wind turbines and … nuclear power generation? Magic?

      Up until this war they had access to Chinese exports, which include both solar panels and wind turbines

        Still hanging on the point of whether we even bothered to ask if they were interested in net-zero. Doubt they’ve been invited to discuss the topic since the war started either.

      Iran is a sovereign country able to set their own targets. They are members of the IPCC but deliberately chose non-participation for 15 years up to 2023. Furthermore, they had unfettered access to Chinese solar panels and wind turbines until recently. As they are the main supplier of oil for Chinese teapot refineries, trade for solar panels would have been simple.

      Iran bears full responsibility for their outlier status no different than the current US regime.
