This cat person forces open one eye to half squint at 5:30AM because the orange braincell is desperately crying out for food. He caught a glimpse of the bottom of the bowl between the kibbles in there, and it was very upsetting.

That’s a filthy lie and you know it. That cat will be singing you the song of its people well before 6am.

Lucky you. The past few days one of my cats will start purring directly into my ear, tickling my face with his whiskers, and walking all over my chest at 4:30am, when their automatic feeder won’t go off until 6am

I will always “haha, so true!” this meme until I make the mistake of going to bed slightly early or waking up slightly late and now for the next three days I’m gonna wake up to my cat hovering over my face to see if we’re making another routine change or if food still happens when the alarm goes off.

My cat will actually start slapping me at 7am to wake me up and feed her. Shes extremely persistent too and will keep slapping until she gets fed. I genuinely don’t even need an alarm clock because she is (usually) so punctual with it and so determined that I’m up at 7 no matter what

Same. But when my dog was a puppy I did walk him every morning before work, in a northern state, and this was literally me in the winter. But that was just one year to train him and once he grew up he became able to wait until after work. He has been chill as fuck since.

My cats know that I get out of bed very quickly when they start VOMITING ON THE CARPET AND ONLY THE CARPET EVERY MORNING.

All of the comments in this thread are why I have automated feeders.

Now I do not get woken up at 5am to the sound of crying that will continue for hours until food is served.

I have automatic feeders too, but my cats will just memorize the schedule and start waking me up 1-1.5 hours earlier anyway

Same, especially because all the cats I’ve ever had have been unable to limit their feedings and get too fat if I free feed. The ones I have are hooked up to remotely switchable plugs that I automate with Home Assistant. Makes it easy to dial is food changes for my little void who is a growing pile of chaos.

Lol no. not at all. a lot of cats go insane around 3 or 4am. Like insane zoomies and rough housing and nonsense. Dumb memes are fine if they are funny but this is dumb and not funny. Thumbs down.

I’ve had dogs my entire life and never had this experience once. Own dachshunds, they’ll never go out in this weather

You’ll just be cleaning up the poop indoors because the daschund will pretend to forget any house training it has. Source: have owned 3 daschunds.

That is my ultimate goal in life once I have my own house! How difficult is it to take care of that many at once?
