1·21 hours agoThe E911 location information is not verified. It’s just a field you fill out when you sign up with a voip service. Smart phone location data can also be spoofed, but that’s not quite as easy.

This is about patents. There have been plenty of game mechanics patents ever since Richard Garfield opened the floodgates by patenting the collectable card game concept.
I’d say patents should be limited to physical goods. Game mechanics should never have been allowed.

21·2 days agoIt’s against hosting or advertising those markets. I think if they leave that out of the ad campaign they’ll be fine.
It wasn’t as prominent as some people seem to remember, but Marina Sirtis did end up being shot from some strange angles in the earlier seasons.
They’ll want to, but they don’t own the data centers and the ones that do have no concept of sacrifice for loyalty. Those parts will be sold.

3·3 days agoRelying on a chatbot to do work for you that isn’t bulk writing or giving your customers the runaround is a recipe for disaster. Now, I’ll grant you that this is a very advanced chatbot, but just because it can fool the average CEO, doesn’t mean it can do much of anything truly useful.

14·3 days agoThe problem with at-will is the unequal relationship corporations and employees have. If I, as an employee, simply walk off the job, that hurts my chances of employment at other corporations. A company, however, will never see any consequence no matter how badly they treat employees.

Sodomy used to be a common add on charge in sexual assault cases. I don’t know if it was ever used outside that context other than to harass gay people. I assume buggery was used the same way.
