Wow, I never heard about this malware trend. I guess this kind of crap will only increase with AI’s help…
I had a user do that with video editing software… seriously, what could go wrong? Ransomware. Literally ransomware.
What app was that? I’m guessing the software was not FOSS.

What is that currently, and what would it need to be given the looming threat of quantum computers?
What caused it to crash so many times and how long ago did you use it? I’ve been using Waterfox for years and it’s been mostly great. I also never use Chrome extensions; just stick to Firefox add-ons.
They are not “just like” Mozilla.

Same with the episode White Bear, etc.

Prathas@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What popular TV show did not do it for you and you quit watching?1·28 days agoNo, it’s not! Did you merely read a synopsis? Those things leave so much out.
Prathas@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What popular TV show did not do it for you and you quit watching?1·28 days agoOh, that one was… yeah, I would not have been hooked off that one, personally. I would definitely reconsider if you’re at all willing. Maybe try Black Museum. Hmm… not sure of which you might like the most, but USS Callister is widely renowned, as far as I know.

Interesting… thanks for the enlightenment!
