Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's that video game boss you've never been able to beat, or took you the longest to beat?
2·3 days agoOk, xlookup is better because it doesn’t return false positives and it also doesn’t require the data to be sorted.
It almost does the same as index(match()), only better, easier and faster.

31·3 days agoPivot tables are great because they force people to put their data into tables.
Formulas suck. You only need sum. Everything is a sum, if you enter your data correctly in a table.
Want to substract? yes, that is a sum in which one of the numbers are negative. Multiply? Yes that is more sums.
What about IF statements then? No, no, no. Conditions are simply factors in a sumproduct.
Learn the keyboard shortcut for sum. It’s the straight edge and compass of excel math.

Please use xlookup instead.
Forget about lookup, vlookup, hlook-up or index(match()).
Only use xlookup.

News@lemmy.world•Chinese EVs take the world by storm — except in the United States
21·4 days agoBoth Apple and Nike are made in China.
I’m just explaining why domestic production of junk in EU and USA is usually more expensive than similar functioning junk from China.

News@lemmy.world•Chinese EVs take the world by storm — except in the United States
41·4 days agoYes, but the counterpoint claim is that Chinese products are not competitive on a free market. The TEMU shit is a good example of this claim being true. Whether or not the Chinese government is paying for infiltrating the Western markets by dumping prices is one thing, but their lacking safety quality control and slave like working conditions are indisputably true. We should not accept products from China that do not produced under the same standards as our own.
All engines are electric if you put a male to male connector on the chassis. You can refuel it by putting the wire into the gas tank.

21·4 days agoPeople do this too when they suddenly get a wholesale offer on stupid things. My friend opened a business and shortly after he had thousands of bouncing balls in a closet for no fucking reason.
The only blunder in the story is not being able to come up with a recipe to use the canned tomatoes. Panini/bruschetta etc. are pretty common in cafe’s.

32·4 days agoNeither the budget numbers or stupid decisions seem that different from what a newly started human coffee shop entrepreneur would do.
I’m not at all a fan of AI, but humans are stupid too.

4 miles? It would have been faster to leave the car at work and bicycle, run or even walk at a fast pace.
Yeah sorry I am a sideways coin when I get bored.
It would be great if say … two atoms … were the same, so we could say that these are the same and that this is the definition of 1 and start counting and so on, but they’re just not. It’s fractals all the way down and up. The entirety of math requires an abstract definition that segments things to be the same like a pixelated resolution of reality. It only exists as an idea.
Fuck the real numbers. Numbers are an abstraction.
Zero is a “real” number. Negative 5 is a “real” number. But have you ever seen zero apples or sailed on negative 5 boats? Uh uh no you haven’t. They are not real.
In reality there’s only existence or nonexistence, it could be a thing or it could not be anything at all, though the latter is actually impossible. All other things are then not the same as that. If you line them up you can make statements like this thing is not that thing. This is basically the succession function, and we’re already ahead of ourselves.
From there on we can start inventing more abstractions by using Peanos axioms, but it’s all abstractions, because the second axiom state that something is the same as something, and nothing in reality is ever the same as something else.
It’s all made up. Reality does not have numbers at all.
Give her a bo’hl’u’waher, and may she’ll “fix” ya alright. Right in the bollocks, ol’ chap.
VBA arrays start at 0, unless you explicitly set it to start at 1.

I have a conspiracy theory: Some of the spin offs or reshootings are done in the same tent, but in a studio with green screens behind the windows. This is to ensure the appearance of consistent weather, even when it’s done over more days or with several hours in between.
