krunklom@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would you do if you could transform into an invisible tiger?1·10 hours agoI never said I would.
Or you have bpd.
Obviously not “you” as in the commenter I’m responding to
krunklom@lemmy.zipto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Every now and again a voice comes into my head telling me to install Arch.2·38 minutes agoI’m using fedora 42 kde on my new laptop since I couldn’t get mint working - fucking visit drivers.
Anywho, doom: the dark ages runs like wet ass and I’m wondering if it has something to do with video codecs or mesa )don’t know what mesa is and there’s a 5080 in there.
I reinstalled tempeh and all my videos work, but - any chance you could point me towards what to do with the video codecs just so I can confirm? If you can offer some guidance on how to install whatever mesa is I want to try that to see if it helps (even though afaik the game should be using the ncidia drivers anyway).
The laptop has a ryzen cpu btw.
Also cool if you can’t help. Figured I’d ask. I’m new to fedora.
Edit: it just suddenly works fine now for no particular reason.

krunklom@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would you do if you could transform into an invisible tiger?5·2 days agoI’d find terrible, horrible people, and just like, tiger my way into their house and fuck shit up, like, take a dump on their bed, smash their tv, etc. and then I’d go invisible, wait for the police to show up, do their thing, and start the process over again until they lost their minds.
I would also rob banks though to keep it balanced.
krunklom@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•AI experts return from China stunned: The U.S. grid is so weak, the race may already be overEnglish1716·2 days agoI really don’t understand this perspective. I truly don’t.
You see a new technology with flaws and just assume that those flaws will always be there and the technology will never progress.
Like. Do you honestly think this is the one technology that researchers are just going to say “it’s fine as-is, let’s just stop improving it”?
You don’t understand the first thing about how it works but people like you are SO certain that the way it is now is how it will always be, and that because there are flaws developing it further is pointless.
I just don’t get it.

Respect SHOULD be given. It should also be taken away when it’s clear it isn’t deserved. To do otherwise is to live in a fucking cesspit of a world.
Trump deserves zero respect though. Just to be clear.

And they happen. But the nod came close to winning a majority in my lifetime (they’ve really lost the plot lately).
The influence of parties outside the “big two” waxes and wanes but they remain an important factor in a democratic process that, while flawed because of FPTP and many other reasons, remains a healthy-ish democracy. I stress the ish.
krunklom@lemmy.zipto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•GOP Oversight Member Suggests Smithsonian Hiding Bones of GiantsEnglish11·3 days agoEvery other country with first past the post parting has third and fourth parties that actually win seats.
I’d agree with the overall point of your comment though. First past the post is problematic and does tend towards favouring two parties, though to my knowledge out all of the countries that employ FPTP the us is the only one where people believe there are only two possible options.
Coalitions are formed all the time in Canada between our two most popular parties and smaller parties.
krunklom@lemmy.zipto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•GOP Oversight Member Suggests Smithsonian Hiding Bones of GiantsEnglish44·3 days agoI agree. It’s almost as batshit as believing a two party system is your only option despite there being nothing making it so besides convention.

In the event of any patent being the result of a team effort each person responsible for its development is gets a proportion of profits from it.
If person develops a patent while employed at a corporation that company owns a lease on the patent lasting 10 or 20 years or something .
I’m sure there’s holes in this you can drive a truck through but high level I feel like there is something there.
I also can’t be arsed to flesh it out further.

it is kind of hard for me to have strong feelings about something that, in my opinion, has always sucked ass, sucking more ass
