Linux only needs to hit a “small but not insignificant size market” for the large publishers to start supporting it. They won’t support it if they lose money doing so, but if it continues to grow eventually they will lose money by not supporting it.
Steam machine should provide another bump, just like steam deck.

Rockstar marketing exec: “It must be at least 1TB”

All true. But a few years ago Fire TV had a big update that put full screen video ads that you must navigate off of every time you wake up the fire stick. It’s so bad we stopped using it.

Roku has WAY LESS ads than Fire TV. Yes I get one on the home screen, off to the side, easily ignored.
It’s true they might add more later. It is pretty much the only corporate strategy these days.
Idk if Apple TV is still no ads. It is usually suggested as the best home streamer.
Seems unlikely unless the bubble survives another 5+ years. My guess is power companies are taking AI contracts and cash now, promising to add capacity later, and then when the bubble pops they will shrug, say no more capacity is needed, and give the CEOs a huge bonus.
