PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Xbox May Walk Away From Steam, As It Reportedly Prepares PC Strategy Shift Amid 2026 ResetEnglish
18·14 days agoI’ve heard rumors that non-Xbox gamers will often refund games if they’re required to log into a Microsoft account.
This move seems careless as people can’t afford to buy a next-gen Xbox if it were to come out because Microsoft themselves are helping to drive up component costs due to AI.
There is no manufacturer in the world (that I’m currently aware of) that has been able to avoid increasing the costs of their electronic devices especially if it contains a hint of DRAM.
Closing off a market like Steam to themselves is so short-sighted in my opinion.
Edit:

Technology@lemmy.world•Keychron announces first open-source firmware for gaming miceEnglish
27·17 days agoGods, I really hope they consider Linux or at least SteamOS for software support.
Having my Logitech and Corsair mice without the ability to actively rebind anything on my Linux host (without the use of Windows VMs) is painfully annoying.

Linux@programming.dev•[Phoronix] KDE Plasma 6.7 X11 vs. Wayland Session Gaming Performance For NVIDIA On CachyOSEnglish
81·1 month agoKind of a pointless comparison as we all know that x11 is EOL and Valve is hightailing it with significant improvements with Proton + Wayland.
A no-brainer comparison seeing the Wayland performance in the lead tbh.
