Now I need to see that episode again! I remember that episode really standing out to me when I was first watching the show, I think I rewatched it in the next day or two.
I am definitely a human, and therefore have a profile description, as humans do.

While I knew we would be seeing Spock, I was also hoping there would be fewer established TOS characters. As you said though, the plan seems to be working so far. I’ve definitely been enjoying it!
I’m sure they’ve thought about switching over, whether as a continuation of TOS or telling new stories mixed in with it. I would still watch if they kept it fairly similar, as I like the cast they’ve put together.
I would prefer to see them tell new stories in a new era with a new ship and a new crew though. However, if they decided to continue in the same era, I personally would like to see a La’an led show. It could run alongside the TOS continuity, so they could even add in those appearances by Kirk and Spock that you know they would want to do. They didn’t ask me to pitch for them though, so I doubt it’ll happen! :)
I’ve been waiting to see MI - Dead Reckoning until I can see it and Final Reckoning back to back for that exact reason! I’m hoping it’s a satisfying conclusion in case they actually stick to the statement that it’s the last Cruise led movie in the series.
Godzilla Minus One (2023) 9/10
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) 6.5/10
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) 7.5/10
Sounds good! I don’t have a lot of experience with plain QEMU, so when you mentioned needing a second mouse I thought maybe it was a bit more complicated to do the passthrough.
The VM is what I’m doing, it works well for the rare times I need to adjust something. Piper works good for everything else. I just use Gnome Boxes for my VM though. It’s pretty easy to pass USB input into it temporarily.
I’m watching it from a distance to see how things go. I’m a fan of the Dune books and the new movies as well, so the world would be interesting to explore. Unfortunately everything I’ve seen of it gives me the feeling that it should have been a single player game instead.
What they mentioned about the player built houses was the first thing I thought of when I heard you could build your own. There’s going to be huge amounts of clutter everywhere you can build!
Ubuntu was my first when I started poking around with it. Not sure which version, but it was during the Unity era. Pop!_OS was the one I started using when I switched full time. I’m still using it on my main computer, but I’m also using Fedora, Ubuntu, NixOS, and Mint on other devices because I like variety!
I’ve been starting to get a few posts (besides me) showing up in !star_trek@lemmy.zip, so that’s good! I feel like there are a few too many communities (there are 7 general Star Trek communities, plus the more specific ones) for the amount of users currently here, but that’s how it goes! The community founder decided not to continue, so I decided to take over rather than let it disappear.
Looks interesting! I saved it to look at later, I’m curious about the information on the Voyager prototype model. It might have to go in my archive of interesting Trek info.
I used to purchase everything I could from GOG until I switched to Linux full time. I still like the company and buy some from them, but until they become more Linux friendly or Steam gets worse I’ll still prioritize Steam now. And it’s not only the (very odd) resistance to making a Linux version of Galaxy, I’ve also seen them not offer Linux versions of games even when the developers have released it on other platforms.
We had seen Garak already, depending on how you would classify him.
