I dont think this is a bad idea. I consider myself Muslim but I also dont like pushing my beliefs on other people, im chill with feminism / communism etc as i live in a secular country in the west.

Some leftists are against the idea of leftiss claiming religion as they feel that its a lost cause, or its just providing cover for extremists or smt. I disagree with that mindset because I think all that does is cede ground to extremist religious types. Religion can be a useful mechanism for liberation (see catholic liberation theology). There is no set official objective religious doctrine, it is always open to interpretation. I think it is a net positive to see religion uplift women.
