Some wise cis person once thought:

“If I’m wrong about being trans and I take hormones for no reason, at least I’d have a more femme body.”

  • Bet the price will be absolutely prohibitive, letting only the rich use them.

Bet it will be used to shield the rich from the consequences of failing medical systems.

I’m not saying it’s a bad technology, I’m saying it’s being developed by the time, money, and effort, and for the benefit of parasites, assuming it’s not just marketing for a cash-grab startup.

  • Yeah, there is a pretty big number of new bot accounts all the time. They are most often used to post propaganda and reactionary bait, to tire people out.

That’s a small part of the reason reddit went to shit, it’s now more bots than people.

That’s why you’ll see many people here telling you to “act like a person”. Most people here don’t want Lemmy to be a place for us to just consume content. It’s not about the memes. Whoever wants an unending stream of memes to pass their time, can just go to insta, and scroll to their hearts’ content.

The memes and the posting, are sorta meant to be part of a discussion, like posting your opinion on things, via memes. What you say, is important. Like how the comments in this post here are saying, politically, that “normal” is actually “angry”, due to where we are in the world right now.

    Edit:

Just to make it clear in case I was being negative, you posting, posting anything, whether it’s things people agree with, things that are just fun, or even things people might disagree with, is great!

Your mindset of bringing content in so the communities are alive, is very good! Just try to leave some time, for people to discuss the post in the comments. Talk about it with each other, make up their minds.

Think about it as if every post you make, is a room. You have to let people walk in, look around, talk to each other, and leave.

If you make an art gallery with 50 new rooms a day, people won’t want to come see your gallery as much, because there’s too much stuff, and not enough time to understand it.

  • For the record,

    • the burst-posting (3 images at a time),

    • generic memes,

    • account in one of the biggest instances,

    • posting exclusively in the one main meme community,

    • the post of a single political-pretending-not-to-be political meme (this one), and

    • the exactly 2 comments made ever,

are all also very suspect, many bots act in this exact way, and then abandon the account for a couple months to let it age. It seems fishy to me too.

But it is very possible that it is just someone overenthusiastic, and new to the fediverse, so let’s not take up arms, better to let a few bots slip than make real people bounce away I think.

Let’s see at least if they respond, or abandon the account, to judge.

  • I’m extremely early in my transition, but I can already feel the conflicting split:

Pink and frills and girlishness, feel freeing, and safe, and comfy, and I love them.

And at the same time, I can see little flashes of “my style”, things that I like more than pink and frills, but that are at the same time, scarier, and less coherent, and I don’t actually know what you really do with them.

Both parts are really important, I think. Maybe the stereotype is more about healing, a safe stop when you don’t know where to take yourself, with your newfound freedom.

Maybe your style comes later, as you grow into it. Maybe someone’s style just really goes deeper into the stereotype, that’s cool too!

It’s so hard to put into words the idea of “You no longer have to struggle with limiting yourself, just do whatever” (a negative act, an absence of an action), when “Finding yourself/your style” is usually framed as a thing you Do (a positive act, an active attempt)

  • It’s hard to explain, but it’s one of the many things that are maddening to me, with AAA titles.

I’ve played absurdly good indie games. Absurdly good indie games aren’t even rare, they come out all the time, faster than someone can play even just all the ones they like.

Meanwhile, Big Games’ success happens simply because they are the only ones with access to the spotlight, and our culture absorbs them as deserving of enormous praise, masterpieces, and the like.

If you really, really, REALLY boil my point down to its core, I guess what I meant to say is

    Capitalism bad.

And when I saw the word Remaster, after Bethesda’s and Activision’s last few years of “business”, and the Cyberpunk fiasco, I was on a hair trigger.

Apart from that though, it wasn’t nearly as “Game I didn’t like” as it looks.

Hating a game is not disliking it. I really liked Witcher, and loved what it could have been. My experience playing it, was “being let down”, by all the Shit that could have been, but wasn’t.

If you want to see someone going on a deeper such spiral than me, check out SkittyBitty’s Tears of the Kingdom review, on YouTube.

  • Not gonna lie, I’ve sunk around 100 hours into this game(no dlcs), and it’s felt like such a one-trick pony. Good main story is well written. Cool. Indeed.

Gameplay is so incredibly ass after the first 20 minutes, where the game looks promising, so it builds anticipation for all the rpg systems, that fail hard at their jobs. Economy, Levels, and crafting, are ass the moment you start using them.

And by god, the secondary writing of the micro-quests that are supposed to make the world feel lived in was “passable filler” at its best, and the “Follow the Orange Highlight” was unavoidable half the time.

It is a game that was cobbled together around a book’s story, and honestly has aged horribly.

And honestly, seeing them re-release it a-la Skyrim, after Cyberpunk’s whole ordeal, feels like such a Corporate move.

(Getting it in before someone tries to tell me it’s going to have revamped systems according to the release trailer, forgive me for not trusting the company until the game comes out and we see the results… In the meantime, I’ll be waiting to see how much they charge for the repair and prettying up of a game they already made ten years ago. I hope I’ll be proven to be just a negative Nancy.)

    Edit:

It’s free. It’s there in the trailer.

Well fuck me, I'll take that L. I was proven a negative Nancy.

  • In case you’re actually good-faith interested in explaining, I just want to say that I’m not avoiding anything, I legitimately have zero idea what you meant with the previous comment.

I don’t know shit about Indian politics, what the implications of the leak are (apart from the obvious “corrupt politicians want their pals as cops/beauraucrats”), or any other context.

All I know is ACAB, so it’s easy to assume it’s almost certainly some corruption and cover up by the state, but I truly have no idea what you had in your mind, and honestly, I’m curious.
