Dani kind of forgot about the Iron Fleet.
The team had several close calls trying to bring her in, including one instance when Valerie came into the rescue site only to find a group of possums chowing down on her treats, which caused her to leave before volunteers could capture her.

I am planning some gnocchi, since she’s a weirdo who doesn’t like it. Not sure what I’m doing with it yet.
Thanks for the suggestion. I keep fresh ginger in the freezer and grate it directly into my dishes.
You are correct and I wasn’t thinking about it from that angle, just about how they didn’t glorify the police.
Bones is one of the most egregious shows for me. The enthusiasm the title character has whenever she gets to shoot someone or lie to someone “because it’s allowed” is super icky.
The original CSI was great. The first few seasons are all about how the evidence is more important than whatever easy story the cops want to make up, and how society is more complicated than just good guys vs bad guys, and the system isn’t always just. It drew a hard distinction between the scientific investigators and the actual cops. Later they turned into just another stupid cop show.
I appreciate shows with civillian detectives like Murder She Wrote, that spend half their episodes making the cops look like incompetent assholes.
To be fair, their commitment to pacifism is just another tool of control. The members are kept out of politics so they won’t spend time or resources on serving anyone but the Governing Body^tm.
The Fall of the House of Usher not only improves the original story, but beings many of Poe’s works to life in a cohesive, beautiful way.
I’m also much more a fan of Flanagan’s Haunting of Hill House than Shirley Jackson’s, but I understand that’s a controversial opinion about a widely loved book.
You makin me blush.
Heathianity for Christians.
I just started watching High Potential. It’s a police procedural, which I don’t care for #acab, but my mom likes them and this one has some qualities that make it watchable. There have been a few frustrations, but the most egregious so far is this:
Mother reports missing girls. Police captain insists they can’t put out an amber alert until it’s been 24 hours. In this, the year of our lord 2025, they decided to roll out that exhausted and dangerously incorrect trope. They even make comments later in the episode about how every minute counts toward finding them alive. I mean.
Taskmaster. At least once you’ve seen them all, it’s a great show to tune in and out of.
Mystery science theater is another.
Ok but will they take useless dumbasses like me who hate trump?

Excuse me this is a community for dogs, you’ll have to go elsewhere for kangaroos.
