    Over a quarter (by some accounts almost 60%) of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, spending 90-95% of their money on necessities with no margin for emergency expenses.

    It’s a country with very limited access to public transport, as evidenced by the fact that >80% commute to work by driving their own car, and <5% commute by public transit, bike or by walking. That’s not by choice, it’s a consequence of the infrastructure which offers very little in terms of options.

    Given these facts, I’d categorize your take as cold.
