I’m surprised they haven’t done it yet. Why bother when the rest of the world treats you like shit anyway?
The Iranian government is a brutal totalitarian regime who has murdered thousands. It is hard to feel sympathy for a government who is willing to slaughter thousands of their own people
That’s true but it’s not relevant here. Iran could be the most democratic nation on Earth and it’d still be a pariah state for opposing Western interests. In fact we’re only two regime changes removed from the secular democratic Iran that was overthrown for opposing Western interests.
The usa is responsible of millions of deaths and israel hold thr longest current settler colonial project which aim is to slowly genocide multiple countries in the middle east. The end of the regime is the end of a 5000 years civilizations
We blew up the “nukes are anti-humanity, therefore a sin against god” guy on day 1.
So the US and Israel launched airstrikes against the Royal Palace, killing six members of the new leader’s family, and injuring him. And we expect him to be level-headed?
Not to mention the grade school strikes…
Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy, huh
NPTP is a worthless piece of treaty. It was made by nuclear powers to prevent others from having them. Rogue states like Apartheid South Africa, Israel, North Korea still developed them without consequences.
I wouldn’t call it worthless as I don’t think those rouge nations have working nuclear weapons.
The treaty also explicitly bans the testing of nuclear weapons which is a major win.
I would say it is worthless since it has left these rogue nations more powerful than they are. Even if they don’t have a working nuke, just a rumour of a nuke has made sure they are not attacked.
Just compare North Korea and Ukraine. One developed whether real or not a nuke and other gave up its nukes. One are not even touched for the fear of retaliation and other is attacked at the first instance.
Major win would have been the nuclear powers to reduce their stockpiles not weakening of other nations. That is a side effect not a win.
Looks at Iran.
Looks at North Korea.
Looks at Iran.
Looks at Russia.
Looks at Iran.
Looks at the US.
I wonder why they suddenly changed their minds.
IRGC has been pushing for this for a long time, but Ali Khamenei forbidden it due to his religious beliefs, now that US and Israel assassinated him, he’s no longer an obstacle.
Israel and the US promoting Khamenei from roadblock to cautionary tale only helped settle the debate faster.
Pretty much inevitable once Trump tore up the nuclear treaty during his first term.
Not while the killed ayatolah was in power. He was against having nuclear weapons because he saw them as anti-Islamic.
Completely fair given how it benefits them not a bit.
Do it! This conflict needs more firestarters.
The response probably looked like this: So guys YOU convinced us to be open and transparent. We did it your way and got bombed. Now you want us to give up all defensive capabilities AND let you waltz in here to look around like you own the place. Go fuck yourself dickheads.
I think it is just a threat to force europe to negociate in good faith
That would be very bad
Why haven’t we killed Khamenei 2.0 yet? His dad must be in hiding, or he had him killed.
Khamenei 1.0 wasn’t really trying in the first place, being an 86 years old guy with cancer and all. Khamenei 2.0 is neither of these things, so he’s presumably actually trying to survive this.
He is hiding underground
Because it took 6 months to kill the last one.
Wasn’t it obvious one of his sons would take over? You would think they would have been planning taking out 2.0 around the same time.
Israel did try to assasinste him and failed. Iran is also learning to stop appearing in public just to prove a point that they are not scared of death after Lerajini was killed
Makes sense. Just thought with all this money the US spends on military he would have been murdered already.
They did, but he survived
You talking about when they initially murdered half his family? I’m just surprised they haven’t killed him yet.
