Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Snapchat’s parent company, Snap, announced on Saturday in a joint statement that they will “continue to take voluntary measures” to identify such material on their platforms.

…no? They are allowed to do that. Chat Control was about making it a requirement for all communication software, breaking encryption in the process.
