Except that’s not really how gravity works. The apple didn’t move once it snapped off the tree. The apple was being accelerated by the tree until it fell. Then the ground and the apple accelerated to meet each other. Gravity didn’t pull the apple to the ground they both accelerated through spacetime to meet each other.
