And I notice a thing that I miss with a lot of newer material is a certain degree of rawness. In production, execution,…

Something about those slight tempo variations that you just can’t program into a click track spontaneously gives it that extra bit of bite to me.

And even a certain amount of sloppiness in playing sometimes. If it’s not too much I find it a plus for some styles.

So if you know any bands or albums that really stand out to scratch that itch, please share.

    Raw, mid-90s, thrash from Perth, Australia.

    Allegiance, Destitution album

    This album was killer.

    Playing Club O, Big Day Out, supporting Sepultura at the Freo Passenger terminal '94, and reforming to play a note-perfect set at the Charles in 2022, these guys are the thrash real deal.
