I made a parody substack for Adrian Vermeule, partly bc it’s kind of an inside joke with one of my friends, but mainly just bc it was so fucking weird and extremely dumb/ridiculous it made me laugh. If you don’t really know who he is, you may or may not find this information about him interesting.

Also, it’s more than understandable if you don’t recognize him by name since he’s kind of an obscure target for parody. He’s best known for being the constantly lurking in the shadows kind of guy, while helping to fight the evil fight by creating his own right wing authoritarian legal theory that’s shaped by his love for Nazi jurist Carl Schmitt, Thomas Aquinas, and his own conservative Catholic values (of course). He’s also a “really into demonizing academia and elite institutions, while working at an elite academic institution for his entire career,” kind of guy.

Anyway, I made the substack and made 2 weird notes. One was a picture of a hip hop cartoon bear with a quote misattributed to Vermeule. One was about Trump’s ongoing feud with the Pope, and Americans siding with the Pope. I tagged Vermeule and said something like “omg what is going on!?! 🤯” Then went to sleep and kind of forgot about it.

Had a min to check the account a few hours ago and discovered the note with the USA Today article had been removed from my substack and I had been officially blocked by the real Adrian the Mule™️… 🥹
