It’s a lot harder to do with open models though cause the usual justifications that China is spying on you don’t work here. On top of that, there’s no a lot of capital riding on access to these models, so there will be a significant push back from business. That said, I do expect US companies that are making proprietary models will do everything in their power to get Chinese competition banned.
