I just filled up my 25 year old Subaru and spent $55. That’s a significant percentage of the value of the car at this point in its life. Some people can’t do that once or twice a week, and in a country that basically mandates you drive, outside of major metropolitan centers, it sucks.
My gas price has actually doubled. When I first got my Santa Cruz a couple years ago it would cost me $40 to fill it from empty. Now it costs me over $40 just to fill it halfway.
