That sucks. I know many people hate Ubisoft but as an open world fan I love their game worlds.

Really? I love their older games but at the very latest since Assassin’s Creed Odyssey the worlds started to feel incredibly empty and hollow. Too big for their own good…

On the contrary, getting to explore a fantastic historical setting is worth the price of admission for me, origins and odyssey stand above the rest in my view

I do enjoy the historical setting as such. I just infinitely prefer the game worlds of older assassin’s creed games like Unity, which feel much, much more alive than odyssey. Even the now ancient Ezio trilogy has livelier and less static cities.

Besides that, many of the newer ACs are just terrible as Assassin’s Creed games, which is all the more turnoff for me as a fan of the old games. I can forgive a mediocre game world if the story is great.

That’s exactly what I like, the worlds aren’t packed with stuff and you can explore the mundane and sightsee a little.

FFXIV was great for this imho.

There were plenty of spots with absolutely nothing going on that were still great to visit just for the visual spectacle
