This Wednesday, the fourth and last photovoltaic solar energy project began to generate electricity at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), promoted by the solidarity network MediCuba Europe.
With a total installed power of 208 kWp, around 50% of the centre’s energy demand is covered. In addition, a study yard and the polyclinic have guaranteed service even during power outages through batteries.
A mural illustrates the solar panels on the roofs, contributed by international solidarity to contribute to this beautiful Cuban internationalist project. This initiative is part of the Energy for Life program, which seeks to guarantee a stable and sustainable supply to Cuban health institutions in the context of the current energy crisis, thus strengthening health services to the population.
