We then expanded our study to other areas and used more realistic masks. We verified our results that crows recognized the humans who captured them, and we uncovered evidence that at least some birds learned about the bad actors by observing knowledgeable crows scold and mob us. We published our findings in 2010. But we continued to test the birds on our campus annually to document the tenure of their hatred of the caveman.
