So the Gulf Cooperation Council countries will pay for it…
My thoughts:
- If it is true that some GCC countries wanted the war on Iran then they have bet a losing bet expecting the US and Israel to further their interests.
- If it is true that some GCC countries opposed the war then I hope they learn that the US cannot be trusted and won’t act in their interests. Either way, 1 or 2 or both true (GCC has 6 members with competing goals), I hope they distance themselves from the US and Israel.
- The US not paying for the damages could mean this is not the Suez Moment we were hoping for and the US won’t be shy to pursue other losing wars if it knows someone else will pay for it. The US is doing it to Europe in Ukraine.
- Iran being paid reparations means another war with it is far less likely but not improbable given Israel’s expansionst goals.
