What a dogshit title
Don’t change the title to reflect your opinion. Put your opinion in the comments, ty. Also this same info was posted here
What’s the opinion here?
Commission will engage with industry following European Citizens’ Initiative on the disabling of videogames by publishers
This is the original headline
“Stop Killing Games fails to secure EU law despite 1.3M signatures” is still just plain facts tho. Not an opinion. An opinion would be “… because they are corrupt POS”.
No it’s still opinionated.
If not outright false
Nothing has failed yet. Expecting the EU to do anything in under a year ist naive.
Edit: For anyone interested in what is actually happening:
The European Commission will engage with consumers and publishers by the end of 2026 to explore ways to improve industry standards
This is what is happening. And while I do understand the scepticism, I would argue this is a good thing. The EU reps have no idea about videogames so the scope needs to be understood first and possible paths discussed. The EU moves slow but it does oftentimes move.
They did if im not mistaken say that they would not be pursue passing specific laws, and indicated they seemed more to br thinking along the lines of partial refunds. Which while better than nothing is not what I expect many that signed the petition hoped for.
