The borg being a tech based species should have assigned the command unimatrix the number zero since that’s what you start counting from in computer based counting systems. Unimatrix Zero should have been called Unimatrix √-1 since it’s an imaginary Unimatrix.

Borg unumatrixes were probably not named as array offsets (which start at zero) but instead as database records, which generally start at 1 for an autoincrementing numeric key.

Yeah its a misnomer that computers count starts at zero. When you count you start at one as that is how counting works. What computers do when zero comes into play is an index and when it creates an index starting a zero makes sense since it would be a waste to not use the address space of 0000 to store data in ram or any other data storage medium.
