Chat Control 1.0 passed, but isn’t scary. Chat Control 1.0 says that a large company can read your messages if it wants to. We know they already do this and you’re a fool if you are sending secret information on these platforms.
The scary part is they will definitely use the same trick to pass Chat Control 2.0 (the real Chat Control) and all sorts of other laws.
Yeah 1.0 is definitely the entry point for 2.0 etc
It’s the opponents who chose to label both of these bills with the same label “Chat Control” and doing so was an own-goal for them.

The EU Council is the prime minister (or other head of state) of every EU country. They don’t really need the EU to pass laws, it serves a purpose like the WEF for them where they discuss the laws without public input.

I hope you’re right. But the population needs to start caring about this first, and I don’t think they do. Majority of people aren’t concerned with privacy, is my feeling. They might become upset if you tell them their privacy is taken away, but they are easily fooled by saying it’s for the children’s safety, etc.
And people easily forget. Because of that very reason as well — that there’s just so much other shit to deal with on a daily basis in life. 😮💨
