Germany’s Bundesrat, the upper house of parliament, backed a bill to criminalize the denial of Israel’s right to exist on Friday, a motion that constitutional experts said could jeopardize freedom of expression.
According to the bill, anyone denying Israel’s right to exist or calling for its abolition would be punished with a prison sentence of up to five years under the regulation. The bill will be examined by the Bundestag, the lower house of parliament, after its summer recess.

Exactly and a lot of people think of ethnic cleansing as a final act that once done is done, but the damage is ongoing. They still are denying the people the right to return to their own homes. Netanyahu is not an aberration. Even if for some impossible reason they decided to leave the palestinians in the west bank and gaza in peace they still need to deny people entry to their homes in order to keep existing as an entity.
This is what ethnic cleansing looks like. This is what people who want Pissrael to keep existing support.
Yeah I think you are making a false comparison where anything less than wishing or chanting “death to israel” means you fully support zionism. There is a wide scasm and people doe not have to be pro death to Palestine or pro death to Israel. But those two camps need to be able to place people who do not share their extreme views into the other camp, there can be no compromise or alternative views only those two
