The US state department has launched a plan to ādisableā and ādismantleā the International Criminal Court (ICC), which includes pressuring other countries to join in and threatening to cut US assistance for those that donāt.
Dismantling the systems of accountability seems to be a theme with Trump and his kind.
This was a long time coming. The US has been heavily against the ICC since before it was even created. It was one of the few countries that voted against its establishment, and right away pressured its āalliesā to ignore the ICCās rulings and arrest warrants.
If genocidal countries threatening to absolve themselves of crimes doesnāt show other countries thereās even more need for ICC then i donāt know what will.

Itās very much true that the ICC mostly targets countries in Africa and Asia. However, are you sure itās a problem with the court itself? It has little power in countries that arenāt members or ones that actively sabotage it.
More powerful countries stall investigations, postpone penalties (or just ignore them), and overall make the ICCās job near impossible. The ICC has no real authority or executive power to do anything about it. The best they can do is investigate crimes in countries too weak to undermine it.
Perhaps itās racism or colonialism, and the court needs to be disbanded. Or perhaps itās merely fulfilling its obligations wherever it is actually able to, and would work a lot better if the powerful countries were gone or lost their influence.
Unless they start writing arrest warrants for American and European leaders for their complicity in the Gaza genocide they are still nothing more than a farce.

The moment the ICC puts out an arrest warrant for any American official, theyāll have all their IT systems disabled, probably some members arrested, and so on.
The US government already ordered Microsoft to disable all accounts of some ICC officials, just for Netanyahuās arrest warrant.
Perhaps itās better if they just continue persecuting criminals from Asia and Africa, instead of collapsing entirely. This way is far from fair or just, but at least some criminals get punished.
As long as USA, Russia, and Israel exist, this is the best we can hope for, unfortunately.
