Good point, but I don’t think it outweighs the negatives of arming the general public indiscriminately.

Must gun death in the US are self inflicted. Additionally there are cases of school shootings that are due to not well kept guns at home. People on the left are also not immune to crimes of passion or road rage accidents etc.
