    if it was true E2EE google wouldn’t be able to use your emails to train their ai and sell you garbage

      Yes they could.

      Remember it is only the email that is encrypted, they can track what you do in the browser. After all, google have the private keys for your TLS session to Gmail.

      I’m pretty sure e2ee wouldn’t stop this, since your emails in your inbox would be decrypted.

        Then it wouldn’t be e2ee at all.

            It would only be e2ee if only you, not the server, has the keys to decrypt. You can achieve this by storing and decrypting only locally. Proton does that for example.
