I think most of them believe those things are good, and then believe they have earned them without ever being able to recognize the efforts of those around them. Thus they believe they have put in effort and deserve it. Those around them “may not have put in the effort” because they didn’t care, or were to busy to pay attention. It’s foolish for us to believe so many believe others deserve to be punished for failing while putting in the same work; when really they explain it to themselves as they made the stakes.

That is the devide that allows John and Jane nobody to believe that people on the left are radical extremists… Because people are saying their philosophy is others deserve to suffer.

Makes it an easy “do I believe others should suffer, no; those people must be trying to manipulate me”
