To me it reads like the OC is trying to have a “gotcha”-moment.
They’re posting in a thread that’s discussing a verdict of a German court. Only going by the headline (which is not painting the whole picture - who could have guessed) one could assume that it’s now officially decided, that comparing Israel to the Nazi regime would be ok and no longer counted as a criminal offence.
Looking back at the problems of db0 and feddit.org that had their peak a few months ago - the main point was that some people from db0 and other instances were really quick to label everyone who did not 100% agree to their take on everything to do with Israel/Palastine “Nazi” (and other things). Whenever feddit.org mods or admins deleted comments and posts or banned someone for being uncivil, not following nettiquette or they feared actual laws might have been broken there were comments and posts declaring the whole feddit.org instance to be a stronghold of “Nazis”, “facists”, and a bunch of other not so nice things.
Now it seems they feel that the verdict proves their point when it comes to a certain flavour of discussion. Feddit.org mods “getting the memo” (nice wordplay btw - the linked “news” post is from Middle East MOnitor or MEMO) is their way of saying “see, we were right all along”.
