In fact, out of 445 patients, only a single youth who started hormone therapy later stopped treatment due to a change in their sense of their own gender.
How do you think that youth feels about this bullshit firestorm churning around what for them at the end of the day is a very personal adolescent journey that somebody on the outside without context is just not going to understand in any meaningful way?
How do you think they feel having what is probably evident to them as a highly specific experience unique to their growth as a person duplicated and carelessly plastered everywhere in a threatening manner like a badly CGI’d array of orcs meant to imply some horde that does not exist… while the real orc, a sentient being with all the associated esoteric contradictions that entails that was used as the template sits there feeling even more alone than they perhaps already might have before?
Loneliness is a vast ecosystem of phenomena but don’t let that dizzying variety make you forget that loneliness is also used in its base form as a weapon to such a deafening degree that we mostly tune it out from our conscious consideration in daily life.
