GEOMAR's SO321 expedition aboard the research vessel SONNE is drilling sediment cores and collecting volcanic glass along the Juan de Fuca Ridge to determine whether glacial sea-level changes drove shifts in mid-ocean ridge volcanism and hydrothermal activity over the past 1.5 million years.
