I’m a 3D artist and I create my images and models in Blender and do my texturing in Substance Painter. I’ve been working with Blender for around 3 years now, I think.
I can’t remember how long this picture took exactly, but several days at least. A good amount of that time was spent creating the axe as well. Many of the props, especially in the background, were things I made for a previous project and reused.
This is a good example to compare it with AI work, as this image gives me a lot of information that I suppose you wanted to provide:
The contrast between some blunt violence and peaceful, beautiful and soft nature (butterfly, spider web), a settlement overgrowth, the cart and chest at the background inform me a lot of what probably happened here.
Maybe I am missing my mark here, but if I saw this in an RPG, I can immediately understand the situation (I am safe, but some past danger unraveled in this place and it might be close-ish, there might be some loot and some clues).
Oh hey, this is my work. Had to do a double-take when I saw this.
Glad you liked it! And thank you for giving credit and linking to my DA page. 🙏
How long did it take you? To get to that level and to draw this image?

They say an image is worth a thousand words, this one tells an entire epic, and its a technical masterpiece too, amazing work!
PS Feel free to submit these here yourself.

Soft nature? A spider near a butterfly. There is a layer you missed!
Oooh cool, so danger was nearer than I thought.
This is definitely an ambush.
This image is just contrast in every aspect.
