Compared to the multibillion-dollar budgets of other DOD projects, the financial cost of the Texas debacle is small. But the lack of consequences for the companies involved, in the view of defense-spending critics, is symptomatic of a larger problem: a deep-rooted culture at the Pentagon and in Congress in which expensive failures lead only to more spending.

Reminds me of how the Pentagon keeps failing audits. Cursed system, but blessed for those the empire deems enemies that it keeps producing profits for government contractors more than it produces functioning weaponry.

This is what we call a win-win situation. Capitalists win by absconding with half a billion free dollars, and anti-imperialists win as the empire runs out of ammunition to wage wars. I fail to see the issue here. More feel-good stories like this please!
