Sorry for missing last weekend’s post. I’ve got exams coming up and haven’t been playing too much lately, so it just kinda slipped my mind.
I am yet to play any soulslikes right now. Don’t have a lot of mental capacity for anything other than League of Legends.
I’ve been a console gamer ever since ~2017 when I bought my first console(s) and have been playing on them exclusively up until last year when I built myself a PC. Thus, until last year, I’ve only been playing soulslikes on PS4/5 and have enjoyed doing so as well. The games run well, it’s comfy to play from the couch, and the games look nice too.
Ever since getting my PC, I have replayed Sekiro and Lies of P and have tried my hand at Another Crab’s Treasure too. I’m not sure if my liking it more on PC has to do with my decreased tolerance towards console BS, but I think I prefer it over console. I have a better posture, I can do stuff on the side, the games I’ve played thus far work really well even with my very outdated rig (1080ti and very outdated mo-bo and CPU)… I don’t even have much of an urge to go back to console even though I have a lot of soulslikes I still need to check off my list there (DS1-3, Nioh 1&2).
I don’t know, I feel like the discontinuation of physical games on PlayStation is more of a cherry on top of all the other gripes I have with consoles as a whole. PS5 might very well be the last console I’ve bought. Especially since I’ll be done with school soon and will have more of a disposable income, I’ll try to put it towards upgrading my PC despite RAM-ageddon and the insane storage prices.
What are your thoughts on this?

Phew! That’s good to know. i didn’t retry the fight during the weekend (╥﹏╥) but yeah since viper was a two health bar extravaganza from the get go let’s say I’ve been a little scared hahah!
I do feel like the limited moveset hurts the replayability of the game a lot, the fun of it coming from trying different gear, skilltrees and such. (Which honestly I should explore more, that’s a me problem…) I will say that having the script down after a few deaths feels way less satisfying; the sekiro comparative you make is really on point.
I had seen this mentioned before and, man does it put some doubts in my ability to finish the whole thing!
I had way more trouble with lies of P DLC final boss than sekiro’s final boss. And beating him felt like the cusp of my soluslike abilities tbh… We’ll see how it goes!
Found that infographic I referenced previously. This is just crazy
:0 yeah they turned up the heat pretty high with viper hahah. Even so, I liked the fight with the spamminess and all.
These are all early game so I wonder if that msny people just bailed on finishing… But I’ll imagine it’s just the friction of learning the game
