I don’t disagree with you, but IMO the background stuff is one of the starting points of the slippery slop(e) to fully AI generated games. They know that fully AI generated games would be torn to pieces by most players at the moment, but the execs will sneak more and more genAI into games if they can count on players getting slowly accustomed to its presence.
I think you may have misread my comment cause I think that is what I said as well. It’s like how we got to where micro transactions are now. Start out small and inoffensive and slowly turn it up to insane degrees.

Maybe it’s better since when he played it but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
