I feel really uncomfortable when a black service worker calls me “boss”.
Idk why…I think there was a book that we listened to in like 7th grade that was narrated by LeVar Burton where there was a character that was, I think, a freed slave, and he was travelling with some young abolitionist white kid, and he’d always call the kid Boss, and it made the kid like really uncomfortable, and that must’ve rubbed off on me.
