It’s simliar to how an old artist’s music being played on a pop station is a leading indicator that artist is going to put out a new album. The intended end users of the Nazi Germany phrases may not know/care what they’re saying, but the people seeding it into the media are literally just following the playbook for what worked last time.
My bingo card has a spot on it for seeing unironic back-to-back commericials for gold sellers (who didn’t get the memo) and reminders that the US has nationalized all its gold (again).
With the current media landscape I believe it’s malicious intent rather than stupidity.
