Not perxactly the same situation, but a couple weeks ago I went to go look up a cabin I rented on VRBO a few years ago.

Couldn’t find the same posting, which was odd since I went through my trip links on the site. Did a bit more sleuthing, and discovered that the posting deleted itself and made a new post with a slightly altered name in order to get past some of the bad reviews.

Place wasn’t even bad, just needed a few touch ups around the building.

It has also previously told us that it uses sophisticated AI systems to detect and combat fraud. So why did its AI not notice that the image on our listing was one of the world’s most famous buildings and appears in thousands of photos across the web?

Eh, that’s about what I expect of AI “protections”
