While working for a CDN I learned that every press of the Windows 10 Start button involved at least one call to at least one remote hostname to fetch data about the local weather to be shown in the Start menu. I presume machines were caching the response for a while, but realizing that this host was getting poked (and who knows how many others) every time someone clicked that button continues to blow my mind.
