Cheers entities, I need your help.
Iām writing a paper in which I need to argue that gay panic is a term that is being reclaimed by the queer community, after having been used for evil far too long.
I was wondering whether anyone on here got a better idea than citing urban dict.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated :3
P.s.: The paper isnāt entirely about gay panic, but rather needs this snippet to āproveā that the Webis Trigger Warning Corpus 2022 is at least partially flawed.

Iām a bit confused by the premise here. How would āpanicā of any sort be reclaimed?
I think there are great examples of panics like the satanic panic that demonstrate how ridiculous and wrong, but I donāt understand whatās being reclaimed here or what youāre trying to cite?
Iām talking about āgay panicā as itās been used by young queers since at least 2020. Itās definition is a bit difficult to pin down, but individual sources point to āthe feeling of panic when one notices attraction to a person of the same sexā which seems to be a trope in gay AO3 stories, as well as āa gay person panickingā, also used in queer AO3 stories, as well as some queer niches of social media.
Urban dictionary and AO3 both point to the use of āGay Panicā as a queer slang term from at least 2020 onwards, but citing them is difficult to say the least.
Got it, seems like thatād be well out of my wheelhouse then.
Good luck.
cheers and thanks :D
