Cheers entities, I need your help.
Iām writing a paper in which I need to argue that gay panic is a term that is being reclaimed by the queer community, after having been used for evil far too long.
I was wondering whether anyone on here got a better idea than citing urban dict.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated :3
P.s.: The paper isnāt entirely about gay panic, but rather needs this snippet to āproveā that the Webis Trigger Warning Corpus 2022 is at least partially flawed.
Recalimed yes, but I find the term is still linked to homophobia. In this case internalized homophobia that leads to a fright, when realizing you find a person of the same sex attractive.
Depending on your papers topic you might also dig into the effects of trigger or content warnings on the audience. I heard of papers that suggested that the use of trigger warnings can cause a stress reactions in people, which leads to them percieving the offensive content as far worse than the control group who was not given a content warning. (Or something along those lines. Sorry, itās been some time)
