Cheers entities, I need your help.
Iām writing a paper in which I need to argue that gay panic is a term that is being reclaimed by the queer community, after having been used for evil far too long.
I was wondering whether anyone on here got a better idea than citing urban dict.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated :3
P.s.: The paper isnāt entirely about gay panic, but rather needs this snippet to āproveā that the Webis Trigger Warning Corpus 2022 is at least partially flawed.

After reading through the replies I had to go read the urban dictionary pages (particularly the āgay panic defenseā one) and hoooooly.
Canāt decide. Curious yāallās thoughts. Are there some things that are just too far gone to ever be reclaimed? Or can anything be taken back given enough time? Like, I would argue that the swastika is probably just gone for good. Whatās the metric or litmus test here? For me, ābad b-ā coneys a mental image that nothing else does and I love to see women reclaiming that word in such a cool way (not that Iād use it, since Iām masc. And whoās using it plays a part, right?) But I also know people who feel offended by any form of its use by anybody.
Iām sure that thereās no way to distill it down into the equation that my brain is looking for. But right and wrong being judged mostly by vibes feels kinda fucked up to me. Particularly given some flavors neurodivergence for whom vibes and feels arenāt free.
edit: whoops. Sorry OP. Didnāt mean to completely side-trail your topic. Appreciate the post though. Interesting discussion
