It’s probably a joke, but even if it isn’t, as long as you don’t come back to the United States, there is nothing they can do. China is not going to extradict you to pay off credit card debts in the USA.
The US shares criminal extradition treaties with 116 counties including every single country in the Americas, all but three countries in Europe, and large swathes of Africa and Southeast Asia.
Travelling to any of those states would cause a passport flag and customs would alert the US embassy authorities.
I really hope this is a joke, though I’ve had to help several people through criminal cases for this exact scenario. Each of those people thought they were the smartest person on the planet until travelling to Uruguay on a vacation ends up with them in an American prison within the month.
