Tbh, for a lot of us, it’s very much along the lines of “wow uh we are completely burning any semblance of moral superiority we had over China”.
The authoritarian control and ethnic persecution was difficult to watch. But now that that’s as American as Apple Pie™… what the fuck room do we have to criticize their government? It’s as sad as it is embarrassing.
What really warmed my heart was joining rednote/xiaohongshu and making Chinese friends.
If you were a true friend to the Chinese you would oppose China.
