This welcome change reinforces both our security posture

Thank heavens for mandating good posture, but I think they misunderstood what the term meant in that context.

As far as I understood, this (or rather, doing the opposite) was part of Aldi’s success story. So we have data that the American people don’t want to see their workers suffer. Then I have one question: WHY exactly? Is this really just higher-ups being malicious because they can?

if it’s anything like being a security guard: the owners don’t know and don’t care to know while the managers do know, but also don’t care because they feel it improves their own profile to the owners to have the underlings stand to give off the impression that they’re alert – they’re not alert, they’re too tired for it; but they have to pay rent so they have no choice.

      it’s basically marx’s ruling-class/petite-bourgeoisie/proletariat dynamic but on a miniature/individualized scale.

It’s to make them suffer enough that they aren’t paying as close attention and something slips through.

I don’t think anything more could slip through than already does. The TSA hasn’t stopped a single terror attack in their entire history and stopping terror attacks is literally their mission statement.

they’ve also failed several surprise tests conducted by the federal gov’t – enough to make their director resign in disgrace and make them stop testing. lol

Everything already slips through except full water bottles. I think in the 25 years since the TSA was introduced, they’re only successful like 5% max of the time when the government does penetration testing
