Neat … the public transport issue is unfortunately a big one, and the hardest to solve :(

Not just the live updates and departure/arrival times, but starting with the sheer existence. In the (reasonably big) city where I live the only thing to be found in OSM/CoMaps/OrganicMaps is the subway.

No buses (including nightbuses for when the subway doesn’t run), no commuter rail for the surrounding cities and suburbs, no tram …

Not sure where this data could be accessed …

Coming from someone stuck in the US, forgive my ignorance of public transit. But could you use the official public transit website/app for that?

I know its not the same, switching between maps and that, but it’s something?

This works sometimes, but there are also a lot of cities with public transit systems that are split into multiple providers. So you might have one website that shows you the subways and trams, and a different for the buses and regional trains. Trying to plan a trip with multiple connections can become quite difficutl very fast then. Especially if you are trying to do it on the spot instead of having had the time to plan in advance.

Potentially, yes, but the official apps available are all using Google Maps … so I’m not sure how much of an improvement that would be over just using GMaps to begin with
